Our History
The name "Pirathon" is derived from ancient Greek, meaning "peak" or "summit." This name reflects our belief that Shiraz is the pinnacle grape variety of the Barossa Valley, with the north-western Barossa being the premier sub-region for Shiraz cultivation. Founded by the Kalleske family, Pirathon was acquired by new owners in late 2017. Since then, we have continued to build upon the excellent foundation laid by the Kalleskes, expanding our offerings while maintaining our commitment to producing exceptional Shiraz wines that showcase the unique terroir of the north-western Barossa.
Our Wines and Properties
Pirathon has expanded to include several venues and vineyards in the Barossa Valley and Clare Valley.
Our Pirathon Cellar Door (formerly Lindsay Wine Estate) offers special packages for community groups and caters to a wide variety of professional events.
The Pirathon Country Estate (formerly Lanzerac Country Estate) provides a unique function and accommodation venue, perfect for weddings and corporate retreats.
